Cause And Effect Of Hair Loss
A theory suggests that baldness has evolved in male via sexual selection. In a study having people of various ages, males who were bald or receding hair were told to be older than those who were clean shaved or had full hair. Former were assumed to be having more aderaline rush thus having low temper but the latter were thought to be more mature socially. Hair loss not only occurs in human but also in primates such as chimps, uakari etc. Even they showed signs of hair loss and hair thinning. Research shows that hair loss in male is linked with x-gene.

Researchers call androgen receptor gene as a cause for balding. This gene is found in less quantity in female would need two X chromosomes with defect to replicate hair problems like in males. So we can really say that the androgen receptor gene plays an important and decisive role in hair loss phenomenon. One of the other genes that plays role in baldness is chromosome 3. This gene is located at 3q26.This is also responsible for mental retardation. Also P2RY5 is responsible for baldness.
Baldness also leads to psychological effects like anxiety, depression and phobia etc. Hair loss leading to psychological problems must be dealt with care and family sessions for care must be arranged. There are many dynamic and famous people who are bald or have hair loss problems. Some of the noted persons are Stone Cold Steve Austin, Bruce Willis, in Diesel and Jasom Stathem etc. In Western countries there is fashion of very short, or even completely shaven, hair among men.
